Along with her piano skills, she brings a lovely singing voice and the ability to write music into the quartet. Julie grew up on the east side of Michigan in a home filled with Southern Gospel music. Her dad was the church song leader and her Mom the church pianist for over 30 years, and Julie began playing piano in church at the young age of 13. This early involvement with church music led Julie to become a worship leader and be involved in church music on the west side of the state for the past 20 years in various capacities. She is married to Scott and they have 3 children - Megan, Erin and Calvin. Prior to joining Skylight, Julie sang and played for the Christian rock band Broken Chains in the west Michigan area. |
